About Us

At The Place For Belonging, we know that people with disabilities are sometimes perceived differently from others around them; that sometimes they feel like they don’t have a voice; that sometimes they struggle to connect; and that sometimes they just want to find their place to belong.

The Place For Belonging is committed, through our Mission, Vision and Purpose, to create a lasting positive social impact. We choose to be a purpose-driven business which is why we measure our results by looking at the footprint and impact that we have on our participants, our employees, our community and our planet.
Who We Are
Our give back ...
Linda and I (Shane) are both proudly country kids. Linda grew up in Tamworth while I grew up in Nanango.

We have lived and worked in Brisbane, Sydney, London and New York over our years, always in people-oriented roles, and while we have been successful in our careers, we have worked hard (and many long hours) to achieve what we did.
​
Now though, is our time to give back. Mental Health has always been a passion for Linda and I and we have experienced first-hand the impact that poor mental health and trauma can have on the individual, the family and the carers.
​
Our business focuses on each person as the individual ... whether it be our staff, or our participants and their family and carer. The Place For Belonging is all about individuals finding a place where they can be their true authentic self, where empathy and understanding is afforded, but where we know we can improve with effort and learning and where we continually strive to be the best versions of ourselves.

Our Vision is simply; to provide high-quality supports that meet our participants’ goals and that enhance and enrich their lives. We do this by giving our participants choice and control; we listen, understand and help them fulfil their individual needs so that they can unlock the opportunity to live, love and laugh, to form a human connection, to feel like part of their local community, and to feel like they belong.
