Your Rights
At The Place For Belonging, every participant has the right to feel safe, respected, listened to, and supported.
Our approach is guided by the NDIS Code of Conduct, the NDIS Practice Standards, and relevant Queensland legislation including the Disability Services Act 2006 (Qld) and the Human Rights Act 2019 (Qld).
You have the right to:
Respect & Dignity
- Be treated with courtesy, empathy, and without discrimination.
- Have your personal values, culture, religion, gender, identity, and choices respected.
Choice & Control
- Make informed decisions about your supports.
- Choose your support workers, change providers, and access independent advocacy.
- Participate in your planning, goal setting, and review processes.
Safety & Quality Supports
- Receive high-quality services delivered safely and professionally.
- Be supported in a way that upholds your privacy and human rights.
- Have your information handled confidentially and securely.
Participation & Inclusion
- Be included in your community in meaningful ways.
- Access services in culturally safe, inclusive, and accessible environments.
Freedom From Abuse, Neglect & Exploitation
You have the right to speak up without fear, and to be protected from:
- Abuse or mistreatment
- Neglect
- Violence
- Exploitation
- Restrictive practices used without authorisation or necessity
We maintain strict safeguarding measures in accordance with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
How to Make a Complaint
We encourage participants, families, guardians, and carers to provide feedback at any time. You will never be disadvantaged for making a complaint.

What Happens Next
- Your complaint will be acknowledged quickly.
