Why We Belong

Built on Belonging. Grown with Integrity. Focused on Real Impact.

The Place For Belonging was founded with one simple belief: every person deserves to feel seen, supported, and part of something real. We knew that people with disabilities often felt isolated, left on the outside looking in. They deserved more than that. They deserved a place to belong … a community where they are valued, respected, and empowered to live life with meaning and connection.

Our founders, Shane and Linda, saw first-hand how traditional systems often failed those living with complex mental health and physical challenges. Services felt transactional. Relationships felt surface-level. And too often, people were left to navigate it all alone.

So they decided to build something different … something that wasn’t transactional or superficial, but truly transformational.

Born from a passion to support people living with complex mental health challenges, our work has grown through the voices and needs of participants seeking purposeful, transformational care. Today, we walk alongside individuals and families across the Sunshine Coast, Moreton Bay, and Brisbane North building trust, shaping meaningful support, and creating true places of belonging.

Belonging with Purpose across Brisbane North, Moreton Bay & the Sunshine Coast.

Respecting Diversity. Embracing Culture. Empowering Lives.

Where Purpose Meets People. Where Vision Becomes Reality.

From Isolation to Belonging. From Transactional to Transformational.

Who We Are

At The Place For Belonging, our purpose is simple but powerful:

To create lasting positive social impact.

We’re committed to shaping a better future uplifting participants, strengthening our community, and supporting our team. Guided by our values, we give back, care deeply, and strive to leave the world better for today and generations to come.

Social Impact

When one person is truly supported, it creates a ripple effect. Families grow stronger.
Communities become more compassionate. Understanding deepens.

That’s why our person-centred approach isn’t just about care, it’s about social change. Every participant we walk alongside becomes a catalyst for greater awareness, acceptance, and connection.
We’re not just supporting individuals. We’re helping society reimagine what disability, diversity, and dignity really look like.

Inclusion in Action

To us, inclusion means creating spaces where people can grow, contribute, and live fully on their own inclusion.

Inclusion means creating an environment where people can embrace everyday moments, take brave steps toward growth, and feel confident to try.

Inclusion is built on connection and respect listening deeply, valuing diversity, and celebrating every person’s culture, story, and strengths.

We challenge assumptions, remove barriers, and work every day to make inclusive communities not the exception, but the norm.

Because belonging isn’t a bonus it’s a human right.

Our Cultural Manifesto

Every decision we make, every relationship we build, comes back to these foundations.
